These are tough times and we need to learn how to be resilient and weather the storm. We can learn a lesson from the pansy.
Pansies are a hybrid flower that thrives in winter. In this winter season we are in regarding our nation and perhaps personally, we can thrive.
Here’s how to be resilient like the pansy.
We had a hard freeze this past week. The result was the few remaining summer annuals still blooming in my garden and hanging pots all froze and turned brown. But the pansies I regularly plant to replace the summer blooms were thriving. The freeze didn’t harm them at all. Instead, they actually flourish in the cold hard environment.
That’s how we need to be right now.

I know there are many who have crumpled in the last several months and especially after the election, kind of like my summer flowers.
It’s time to learn the lesson of the pansy and be resilient in tough times.
We were created for such a time as this. Created to stand up in the harsh conditions. We must refuse to bend or bow. Our resilience comes from our root system planted firmly in the Word.
I often think of Queen Esther in the time in which her people were facing a legal mandate to destroy them. She asked her people to fast and pray with her. But that wasn’t all. She also took steps of action to see the ungodly mandate reversed.

Where do we get that kind of resolve and courage? From the Word where our roots must go deep for our branches to reach up high. A scripture the Lord highlighted for me this morning was, “As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt, I will show you miracles.” (Micah 7:14).
Miracles are coming, but sometimes we forget that action steps are also part of the process. What if Esther and just fasted and prayed? What if the Israelites hadn’t crossed the Red Sea? What if they had never left Egypt?
It’s easier just to say, “Yes I will pray,” and stop there. But don’t be a pansy (someone weak and scared). Be a pansy – a hybrid unafraid of the cold and harsh conditions. One who stands up strong in the face of opposition.
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Be strong and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the Lord. (Ps 27:13-14 NASB).
Want to know what is going on in our nation? Why insanity seems to have taken over? It is a spiritual progression the Lord revealed to me back before Trump took office. Yet it is the very thing he has battled since he took office and is far more dangerous and contagious than COVID. Are you infected? Others you know? Take the test in the back of the book, but more importantly find out the cure in INFECTED: How to Stop the Global Spread of Rage, Deception and Insanity.
Thank you for the work you are doing for My Father.
