I believe there are action steps outlined in Exodus 3 that give us God’s instruction on how to prepare ourselves for His move:
1. We must turn aside to see what God is doing.
There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up” (Ex 3:2-3 NIV).
What if Moses had not taken the time to investigate? The word “turn aside” is the word “sûrwûr. It means an intentional decision to turn off the road and take notice. What if Moses had simply seen the bush, realized it was an anomaly even a miracle, but simply moved on?
How many times do we do that? We acknowledge that God has done something, but we don’t investigate why or how to know how it can continue.
It’s important to note that God didn’t respond to Moses until Moses took the time to take an intentional step to investigate what was happening.
2. Listen and Respond to His Voice
When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
And Moses said, “Here I am” (Ex 3:4).
Once Moses responded, God responded. It was only then that God called out to Moses. Let’s consider what if Moses hadn’t heard God? What if he didn’t respond back to God? What if he hadn’t been listening for His voice? But he was—and so should we.
If we will take the time in this atmosphere of revival to turn aside from our regular activities and give God our time and attention, I believe He will call out to us when He sees hearts calling out to Him. But are we ready to respond, “Here I am?” That response suggests a level of sacrifice.
3. Repent & Purify Your Heart
Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground” (Ex 3:5).
Moses was given a command that required a response to holiness. We each have that same action step, to repent and purify our hearts to be vessels ready to receive Him. Every revival from the past has been preceded by prayer AND repentance/confession. As we remove the unholy and fleshly aspects from our lives (as represented by Moses’ sandals) we step into the fear and reverence of the Lord to a place of expectation.

Once God had Moses’ attention, He immediately began to reveal Himself to him. His love, His intention, His concern.
The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them (Ex 3:7-9).
Make no mistake, God has heard our cry.
Go back and read that passage again and where it says “Egypt” insert America. Where it says Israelites, insert My people.
Pharaoh was the highest ruler in the land. The Egyptians were the ruling class who enslaved the Israelites stealing their time, money and efforts. They had also stolen their hope. We have experienced the same by present day “Egyptians.”
Have you grown weary from the ongoing battle against evil and perversion?
We have cried out for justice and yet injustice has continued. Deception and lies are treated as truth. Perversion has become “entertainment” and curriculum taught to our children.

Leadership intended to protect perverts and trust has died a slow death. Hopelessness and weariness have filled the hearts of even the most courageous. At one time Moses had been courageous…and arrogant. He had stepped out in the flesh and tried to deliver Israel by his own hand.
He was a deliverer, but what we start in the flesh we must maintain in the flesh. A few years on the back side of the desert had changed him and humbled him. Now God could use him.
But I know that the king of Egypt will not permit you to go, except under compulsion. So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My miracles which I shall do in the midst of it; and after that he will let you go (Ex 3:19-20 NASB-1995).
As we continue to remain humble and prostrate before the Lord, God is going to perform miracles to set the world free from tyranny and control.
We have a front row seat to the epic battle between God and Satan as it comes to a head.
And there WILL be miracles.
What God called “My miracles” in verse 20 brought deliverance for one group and struck terror in the hearts of the other. It will be no different today. The only way America—and the world—will be saved is through His miracle-working power.
It has started. It is called revival. Now the question is will we be vessels through which it can flow?
